Fashionable Running According to Monkey

My typical summer running outfit includes a pair of shorts, a tank top, a sports bra, socks and a handkerchief to wipe away sweat.

This morning I put on a pair of black shorts and a loose black and white sleeveless Champion® top from Target that my hubby bought for me. When I walked out to the kitchen to put Monkey’s shoes on she said, “Yuck!”

“What? My shirt?” I asked.

“Yes. I don’t like that.”

“You don’t? It’s not pretty?”

“No. It’s yucky.”

So I changed.

To make Monkey really happy I’m going to have to invest in a running skirt like this one –

Although the price on this skirt is a little more than I’m willing to spend. I usually buy my running clothes at Target. Their Champion® line of active-wear is affordable and comfortable.

So what does the always fashionable Monkey wear to run? A church-dress and sandals.

Relay for Life is this Friday! I have no idea what to expect and it makes me a little nervous. Have you ever participated in Relay for Life? Do you have any stories to share?

  1. ahahaha, N. would do the same thing, and in fact she frequently comments on my choice of clothes. She likes to pick my clothes for me… A 2.5 year old choosing her mother’s clothes? Boy, you and I are in for some trouble with these fashionistas.

  2. Hi Brianna,
I do believe she has you wrapped around her little finger! :)

The Relays for Life that I have participated in were simply walking around the track with many others, spending time talking, reminiscing and eating, and hearing some wonderful stories of overcomers. Nothing to be nervous about.

P.S. I’d like to see a picture of Monkey in her “layered” look. I hear about it but have never seen it.

  3. Hahaha – opinionated little bitties. 😉 Sounds like a very familiar discussion at my house! Church dresses and sandals are pretty fantastic for running when your little body doesn’t feel knee pain yet. Hehe. Perhaps she’ll be a tennis player one day.

  4. Church dress and sandals, how cute. Let’s go run in that outfit just once to see the reaction we’d get from others. I wish I were that brave. 😉
